Nicholas Breutzman began his career working in the magazine section of a Barnes and Noble, where he drew penises on hundreds of people a day in the magazines he was hired to sell. He then realized his potential and broke away from the bookstore behemoth to become the man he is today. His graphic novel Yearbooks was listed as a “Notable Comic” in The Best American Comics 2010 and was named in Comic Journal’s Top 50 Comics of 2009. Buy his comics here.

Danny Hellman has been making art for publication since 1988, and has worked for a wide variety of clients, including Time, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, Fortune, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Village Voice, New York Press, Screw, and countless others. He also edited and published the critically acclaimed comics anthologies Legal Action Comics Volumes 1 & 2, and Typhon Vol. 1. Hellman lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and daughter.

Shounak Jog is a visual artist from Mumbai, India working freelance for some of India’s leading production houses, television channels and ad agencies. He penciled both Vargav and Garuda: India Authentic titles for Virgin Comics, and worked as concept artist/designer for a movie trilogy based on the Indian epic Mahabharata for Kaleidoscope Enertainment. A post-grad of IIT Powai, he also has his name to a dissertation about the weapons and war formations of the Mahabharata war.

Ellen Lindner lives and loves in London, where she is part of the Whores of Mensa comics collective. (Ed. note: at the time of this writing Ellen was moving back to New York). She recently edited and published the first issue of The Strumpet, a 40-plus-page comic featuring work by both U.K. and U.S.-based artists. Her graphic novel Undertow is available from her website, as well through lulu.com.

Richars Meza’s design career has spanned Lima, New York City, Tokyo and Madrid. As co-founder and creative director of the Madrid-based Barfutura, he designed posters and film titles for some of the most prominent directors in Spain. In 2008, Barfutura’s logo for the GEXTOPHOTO photo-graphy festival won a best logo award at the European Design Awards in Stockholm. In late 2009, Richars left Barfutura to start his own studio, IS Creative Studio.

Ed Piskor has been cartooning professionally since 2005, starting off drawing “American Splendor” comics written by Harvey Pekar. The duo continued working together on two graphic novels, Macedonia and The Beats. Ed began self publishing Wizzywig after developing a huge interest in the history of hacking and phone phreaking. Three volumes have been published to date. Recently Ed has designed the characters for the new Adult Swim series, “Mongo Wrestling Alliance.”

Joan Reilly is a founding member of Deep6 Studios, located in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Recent projects include “Red Hook Blues,” a full-color, painted comic for the art & literature magazine Cousin Corinne’s Reminder, illustrations for a story in Studs Terkel’s Working: A Graphic Adaptation (adapted into comics form by Harvey Pekar of “American Splendor” fame), and an autobio-graphical comic in the “Next Door Neighbor” anthology at Smithmag.net, for which she was listed in The Best American Comics 2009 under "Notable Comics."

Nathan Schreiber, a former print designer for women’s underwear, has published comics in L’Uomo Vogue, Smith Magazine, Overflow Magazine, and on Act-I-Vate.com. His Xeric-Award winning comic Power Out has been nominated for an Eisner and multiple Harvey awards.

Emanuele Simonelli was born in 1974 in Rome, Italy. He studied Irony at the Instituto Europeo di Design and Ambiguity at the Accademia di Belle Arti, both in Rome. He has exhibited at a number of New York galleries, among them the Lyons Wier Gallery in Chelsea and the PowerHouse Arena in Dumbo. Currently he works as a storyboard artist in New York City.

Edwin Vazquez is known for his unique scratchboard style in comics and illustrations. He is influenced by the urban settings of New York City, pre-Columbian history and tattoo art.

Chandler Wood is an illustrator living and working in Los Angeles, CA. “Another L.A. Story,” his Los Angeles-scape comic, has run in the L.A. Weekly since 2005. He illustrated a story for Harvey Pekar’s “American Splendor” and is the co-creator of the upcoming comic “Tonight There’s Gonna Be A Jailbreak.”

Mack White is a writer, illustrator and comics creator whose work includes The Mutant Book of the Dead, Villa of the Mysteries, The Bush Junta, and Texas Tales Illustrated: The Revolution. He also co-hosts the talk show PsiOp Radio. He lives in Austin, Texas.
